REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY
Last Updated: 21 September 2026
This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to events, competitions, workshops, programmes and other activities organised by Singapore Dance Alliance (“SDA”), International Arts Festival (“IAF”) and International Ballet Grand Prix (“IBGP”), unless different refund or cancellation terms are expressly stated for a specific event or service.
1. Competition and Event Registration Fees
All competition, final, workshop, programme and event registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable once payment has been made and the registration has been submitted, except in the circumstances specifically stated in this Policy.
Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are able and eligible to participate before completing their registration and payment.
No refund or transfer will be provided where a participant is unable or chooses not to participate for reasons including, but not limited to:
-
change of mind;
-
scheduling conflicts or other personal commitments;
-
withdrawal from the event;
-
illness, injury or other personal circumstances;
-
travel difficulties or inability to obtain visas or other travel documentation;
-
transportation or accommodation disruptions;
-
failure to attend or arrive on time;
-
disqualification or failure to meet eligibility or competition requirements; or
-
any other circumstance attributable to the participant, parent, guardian, teacher, school or registering party.
Participants are therefore strongly encouraged to review all event information, eligibility requirements, dates, locations and applicable Rules & Regulations carefully before registering and making payment.
2. Changes to Registration
Registration fees may not be transferred to another participant, event or future edition of an event unless expressly approved in writing by SDA, IAF or IBGP.
Requests for amendments to registration information are subject to the Rules & Regulations and administrative charges applicable to the particular event.
Approval of any change or transfer is at the sole discretion of the organiser and should not be assumed unless confirmed in writing.
3. Event Schedule and Programme Changes
Event schedules, performance times, venues, adjudicators, instructors, programme content and other event arrangements may be changed where reasonably necessary due to operational requirements or circumstances beyond the organiser’s control.
Such changes do not ordinarily entitle a participant to a refund, provided that the event or relevant service continues to be substantially delivered.
4. Event Cancellation by the Organiser
If SDA, IAF or IBGP cancels an event in its entirety and does not provide a replacement event, rescheduled event, credit or substantially equivalent alternative, the organiser will provide an appropriate refund of the fees paid for the cancelled event.
Any refund will be limited to amounts paid directly to the organiser for the affected registration or service.
SDA, IAF and IBGP are not responsible for reimbursing any consequential or third-party costs incurred by participants, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, visa, transportation, costume or other personal expenses.
Participants are encouraged to make travel and accommodation arrangements with appropriate cancellation or travel insurance protection.
5. Postponement or Rescheduling
Where an event is postponed or rescheduled, the registration will normally be carried forward automatically to the rescheduled event.
A postponement, change of date, change of schedule or change of venue does not automatically constitute cancellation and does not automatically entitle the participant to a refund.
Where exceptional circumstances make an alternative arrangement appropriate, SDA, IAF or IBGP may, at its discretion, offer a transfer, credit or refund.
6. Online Events and Submissions
Fees for online competitions, programmes or other digital participation are non-refundable once registration has been submitted, except where the organiser cancels the relevant event or is unable to provide the service.
Failure by a participant to submit the required material, including performance videos or other information, by the stipulated deadline does not entitle the participant to a refund.
7. Duplicate or Incorrect Payments
If you believe that you have been charged more than once for the same registration, or that an incorrect amount has been charged, please contact us promptly.
Where a duplicate or erroneous payment is verified, the incorrectly charged amount will be refunded to the original payment method where possible.
8. Refund Method
Any refund approved under this Policy will normally be made to the original payment method used for the transaction.
Processing times may vary depending on the payment method, card issuer, bank or payment service provider.
A refund is not considered completed until it has been successfully processed through the applicable payment provider.
9. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Participants should contact us directly if they believe that an incorrect charge has been made or that they are entitled to a refund under this Policy.
Initiating a payment dispute or chargeback does not alter the terms of this Refund & Cancellation Policy or the applicable Rules & Regulations.
We reserve the right to provide registration records, acceptance of applicable terms, payment records and other relevant information to the payment service provider or card issuer in response to any payment dispute or chargeback.
10. Mandatory Consumer Rights
Nothing in this Policy is intended to exclude or restrict any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
