Join us for the Inspire Course, a two-day professional development program for dance educators, designed to expand your teaching skills and deepen your knowledge of dance pedagogy. This year, we will cover Seminars 3 and 6, offering practical insights into core areas of classical ballet teaching.

 

Through engaging sessions, you’ll reflect on your teaching practice, gain a deeper understanding of motor learning, and be supported in applying these concepts to enhance your lessons. Seminar leaders will guide you through the theory behind each topic, giving you both practical tools and theoretical knowledge to take your teaching to the next level.

Whether you're looking to refine your teaching technique or learn new strategies for lesson planning, this course provides valuable opportunities for professional growth and collaboration with fellow dance educators.

Seminar 3: Centre work

  • Aims:

    • To explore how students learn and effective teaching practice

    • To analyse the vocabulary of classical ballet that is taught in centre practice

    • To highlight how classical ballet vocabulary progresses from the barre to the centre

    • To develop skills in teaching centre practice

    • To explore effective communication

    • To develop skills in the demonstration of enchaînement and the use of voice in delivering a lesson.

Outline:

  1. How do we learn? How should we teach? An introduction to learning and teaching

  2. Centre work: practical application, observation and analysis

  3. Demonstration, the use of voice and communication.



Seminar 6: Good teaching practice

  • Aims:

    • To gain practical experience in setting, demonstrating and correcting enchaînements

    • To develop effective teaching skills

    • To highlight the importance of developing artistry in tandem with technique.

Outline:

  1. Developing and delivering an enchaînement

  2. Épaulement, style and artistry.

BALLET INTENSIVE COURSE

 

Date: 10 - 12 April 2026
Venue: Singapore Ballet, 201 Victoria Street #07-02/03 Bugis+, Singapore 188067​

The Royal Ballet School is excited to present a 3-day Ballet Intensive for students aged 7 to 18. This non-selective program is designed to nurture young dancers, develop their technique, and inspire a lifelong love for dance.

During the Intensive, students will experience the Royal Ballet School's distinctive system of training, with a curriculum that includes:
- Daily classical ballet classes
- Repertoire
- Focus classes to hone specific techniques

SMALL GROUP COACHING
For those seeking personalized attention, additional coaching sessions will be available. Spots are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis!
