Kate Coyne, Artistic Director
Kate Coyne trained at the Royal Ballet School and London Contemporary Dance School, from where she graduated into London Contemporary Dance Theatre under the directorship of Robert Cohan. Later she joined Rambert Dance Company under the directorship of Christopher Bruce. In these reper- tory companies Kate worked on new and restaged pieces with a variety of choreographers. Pursuing a freelance career she worked as a long-standing member of Michael Clark Company, and with DV8, Mark Baldwin Dance Company, Jeremy James and Dancers, Martha Clarke, Michael Keegan-Dolan, Arthur Pita and Aletta Collins. In 2009 she was the recipient of the Critics Circle Award for Best Female Dancer- Modern and has been the joint winner with colleagues from London Contem- porary Dance Theatre of an Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance. Kate retired from performing in 2012 and took up a post as Producer, Frieze Projects and later Programme Director at Siobhan Davies Dance before joining Michael Clark Company as Associate Director.
Resmi Malko, Ballet Tutor
Resmi Malko is one of Central’s Ballet Tutors, teaching Second and Third Year students Ballet, Pas de Deux and repertoire. In addition, he coaches students for international competitions, such as Prix de Lausanne, BBC TV’s Young Dancer, and the Genée International Ballet Competition. He is also a Career Adviser helping students find jobs and seek out career options in the dance industry. Resmi trained at Ballet Training at the National Ballet Academy of Albania. He joined the National Opera and Ballet Theatre in Albania and within two years was promoted to Principal Dancer. He has performed extensively internationally. In 2003, Resmi graduated from the Teacher Training programme for professional dancers at Canada’s National Ballet School with Distinction and joined their Artistic Staff. He was Ballet Master for New English Ballet Theatre from 2012 to 2013. Resmi regularly teaches at schools in the UK, across Europe and internationally.

Performance Degree Courses
Two Year Foundation Degree Course | One Year BA (Hons) Top-Up Course
Central School of Ballet is a world-leading centre for professional dance training based in the South Bank arts community in London, led by Executive Director Mark Osterfield and Artistic Director Kate Coyne. Central offers vocational ballet-based degree courses in dance, validated by the University of Kent. Final Year students on the BA (Hons) Top-Up course join Central’s touring company Ballet Central where they have the chance to work with distinguished choreographers on new works and revived classics. The annual tour performs in theatres over a four month period in the UK giving students invaluable professional performance experience that then supports graduate employment opportunities.
